What SmartTrakr provides
A platform for tracking field employees using HC02 Smart ID cards: a live map, geofenced day plans with verified arrivals, an activity timeline, attendance and visit reports, and an employee mobile app. Cards are supplied with an M2M SIM, and the monthly fee covers the SIM, data, maintenance and the platform.
Your responsibilities as an employer
These are not boilerplate. Under the DPDP Act you are the Data Fiduciary for your employees, and the following are conditions of use:
- Obtain genuine consent. The system will refuse to assign a card without a consent record, but recording consent that was not actually given is your liability, not a system failure.
- Set shift hours honestly. Tracking is limited to the hours you declare for each employee. Declaring hours far beyond those actually worked defeats the safeguard.
- Tell your employees. They can see what is collected in the app, but that does not replace telling them before you issue a card.
- Honour withdrawal. An employee may withdraw consent at any time and tracking stops immediately. Penalising them for it is your risk.
- Keep your account credentials secure, and remove users who leave.
Acceptable use
SmartTrakr is for tracking employees who have consented, during their working hours, for legitimate business purposes. It must not be used to track anyone who has not consented, to monitor people outside working hours, or to track anyone who is not an employee of your company.
Billing
Smart ID cards are charged once, per card. The monthly fee is charged per activated card and begins when a card first reports its position after delivery, prorated for that month. A delivered but never-activated card is not billed. Prices are exclusive of GST. Current rates are on the pricing page.
To be confirmed: Payment terms, invoice due dates, late-payment consequences and the notice period for cancellation are being finalised.
Your data
Your data remains yours. We process it to provide the service and do not sell it or use it to train anything. On request we will export it, and after the retention window it is deleted as described in our privacy policy.
Service availability
To be confirmed: No uptime commitment or service credit scheme is offered yet. We would rather publish none than publish one we have not yet built the monitoring to measure.
Liability and governing law
To be confirmed: Limitation of liability, indemnities, and the governing law and jurisdiction for disputes are pending legal review. Nothing on this page limits any right you have under Indian law.
